Briquetts are made of saw dust and/or wood chips. The raw material is dry and no additives (i.e. glue) are added. With use of high pressure these particles are pressed togehter. Pressure, heat and the natural ingredients of https://msholz.de/wp-admin/post.php?action=edit&post_type=page&post=2319&lang=en&admin_bar=1wood work together, so that a genuine natural wood fuel product stays at the end of the production. There are various sizes and forms available depending on the kind of the press line and matrix used.
Softwood briquette type “RUF”
Specification
Type of timber:
Softwood, mainly Pine/Spruce/Fir
Depending on the source of raw material there might be a slight percentage of hardwood saw dust/chips be pressed together with the softwood saw dust/chips. These kind of briquette are called “Mixed wood briquette”, but they are sold under the headline “Softwood briquette”.
Press:
The shape of the briquette depends on the press matrix used.
The most common shape looks like a brick and ist gernerally called “RUF” briquette. The name “RUF” comes from the company Ruf, which produces press machines for this kind of briquette.
The shape of the briquette states nothing about the calorific value. The calorific value depends on the density of the briquette and the press pressure.
